Day 1 Rome-Florence
At the airport of Rome, meet your tour escort who will stay with you throughout the entire stay in Italy. From the airport, travel northwards towards Florence. On the way stop and visit Orvieto, a town populated since the Etruscan times. Here, you will visit the Cathedral, the famous Pozzo di San Patrizio, a cylindrical well built in the 16th century which allowed mules to carry empty and full water vessels separately in downward and upward directions without obstruction, and the underground, another town built more than 2,000 years ago. You will have lunch before continuing the transfer to Montecatini. Check-in
Day 2 Florence
Today will be completed dedicated to the visit of the famous Renaissance town. Your visit will include also the Academy Gallery, where the famous statue of Donatello is located, the Duomo and the Baptistry. Time at disposal in the afternoon before returning back to the hotel
Day 3 Pisa - Lucca
Today you will visit the famous Leaning Tower in Pisa and the other monuments located in the Miracles’ Square before reaching Lucca, one of the best well-preserved wall-towns in Europe. The visit of Lucca will be made by bike.
Day 4 Siena - Perugia
Check-out and transfer to Perugia in Umbria stopping, first in San Gimignano, the Medieval village famous for its towers, and then in Siena, the rival town of Florence during the Middle Ages when Florence was sided with the Pope while Siena with the Emperor. Famous is the Montaperti Battle in 1260 when Florence was heavily defeated. Siena is also famous for the Palio, a horse race run twice a year since the that time. After the visit continue to Perugia and check-in
Day 5 Perugia – Assisi
In the morning, visit of Assisi, the town famous in the world for St. Francis and St. Clare, the two saints devoted to the poors. After the visit of Assisi and the Basilica of St Francis, the guide will continue the tour in Perugia, the chief town of Umbria.
Day 6 Rome (Imperial Rome)
Check-out and transfer to Rome. In the afternoon you will visit the Capital of Italy following the theme of the Roman Empire including a guided tour of the Colosseum.
Day 7 Rome (Vatican and Baroque theme)
In the morning, you will visit the Sistine Chapel inside the Vatican Museums to then pass to explore St Peter’s Cathedral. In the afternoon, it will be an occasion to visit the pedestrian area of Rome where very well-known monuments are located: Trevi Fountain, Navona Square, Spanish Steps
Day 8 Departure
Check-out and transfer to the airport of Rome
